Year 2 at work

Year 2 - Ice cream Victorian style

The children in Year 2 enjoyed ice cream 'hokey pokey' style just like the Victorians. They thought it was funny licking their ice cream off the greaseproof paper.

The children in Year 2 created lighthouses as part of their 'Seasides' topic. They looked fantastic when they were finished!

Year 2 -Picnic Week

The children in Year 2 did a variety of lessons based on picnics at the seaside. They baked cakes in maths, completed tally charts and graphs to find out what drinks the children wanted at the picnic and created a range of different drinks using their knowledge of mililitres to measure the different capacities.

Maasai Culture - Mutual Respect

The children in Year 2 have been learning about the Maasai culture. They have found that it is very different to their own. They have created Maasai necklaces as the Maasai women wear lots of beads to make them look rich.

The Great Fire of London

The children have been learning all about the Great Fire of London. They have written diary entries, newspaper reports and letters based on the fire. They have completed role plays to think about how the people would have felt during this event. They have found out about sources and the information that we can find out from these.

Gymnastics - Year 2

The children in Year 2 have been to a gymnastics competition. They all did really well and had lots of fun!

Position and Direction

The children in Year 2 have been learning about position and direction.

The Rosary

Father Ed visited Year 1 and 2 and told them information about the rosary. Father Ed said his favourite prayer was the Glory Be because it is a prayer of thanks.
