Foundation Stage Unit
Hello and welcome to our Foundation Stage Unit at St. Mary’s!
Foundation Stage is a fun and exciting place to be! We learn through both child initiated and adult directed, play based activities in our large, recently extended, stimulating indoor environment, as well as in our well-equipped outdoor yard and grassed learning spaces.

We have 2 classes within the Foundation Stage Unit: Nursery and Reception. Please click on the class icons below to find out information about each class.
Within our Foundation Stage unit we take children from the term after their 3rd birthday, and they stay with us until the end of their Reception year. Children in their pre-school year attend the morning session and those who have joined us before their pre-school year, the term after they have turned 3, attend for an afternoon session.
We also offer 30 hours provision for those children of families who are eligible – this is available for children in both morning and afternoon Nursery year groups. For more information about the government’s 30 hours scheme please click on the link below.
