Hello and welcome to Year 1!

In this class, the teacher is Miss Hillon and the Senior Teaching Assistant is Mrs Gibson. We also have Miss Sharing, a Teaching Assistant who provides us extra support each afternoon.

The Year 1 children are a wonderful class who all try their best to work hard all the time. The children have wonderful manners and values and aim to grow and learn in the footsteps of Jesus, just like our school mission statement says.

In Year 1 we learn about lots of great topics such as Significant Explorers like Neil Armstrong, we learn about our own country and other interesting countries such as Shanghai, and we also look at local area history such as mining.

Our Art and Design & Technology topics are also really exciting, as we get to bake, experiment with food, design and create amazing structures and models and also learn new skills and techniques using a range of equipment.

Homework will be uploaded to Seesaw every Friday afternoon, so please login to your child's Seesaw account every week to check for homework, tasks and important messages.
