Our Learning

At St. Mary’s, we use the Education for a Connected World framework. This covers all the digital knowledge and skills that children and young people should have the opportunity to develop at different stages of their lives. It highlights what a child should know in terms of current online technology, its influence on behaviour and development, and what skills they need to be able to navigate it.

Throughout the year, pupils across the school focus on one of the eight strands from the Education for a Connected World framework in discrete online safety lessons. In addition, pupils receive online safety lessons in their computing, RSE and PSHE lessons as well as across the wider curriculum. Learning about online safety in a variety of lessons, helps them to explore online safety in a variety of contexts and helps to embed their knowledge and understanding of staying safe online.
