School Vision and Values
We often refer to St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School as the St. Mary’s family, where we look after one another, support and care for one another, celebrate together and take pride in our achievements. Each member of the St. Mary’s family is important and there is a real sense of belonging and being valued.
Our vision and values, which are rooted in the Gospel values, are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which helps our children become confident, happy citizens.
We provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment where pupils feel valued and where they are encouraged to do their best. All our pupils are taught to be courteous, caring, self-disciplined, respectful towards others and to have a positive view of themselves.
Our children are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum which offers a breadth of experience, standards of excellence and sense of parish and community. We provide an environment where children can grow and develop spiritually, morally, physically and intellectually, achieving a high level of personal attainment. We offer a challenging learning environment, where children are encouraged to do their best and prepare for their future.
Parents and carers play an important role in the education of their child and we encourage them to be part of this. We welcome parental involvement and include pupils, parents, staff, governors and the parish in the continuous development and growth of our school.
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do”.
