Take a look at our Poppy art work Year 5 produced during a very special RE lesson – they were tasked with reflecting on those who have fought and died for us and how we must give thanks to those who were sacrificed so that we could live making links to Jesus’ sacrifice for us.
During the Vikings topic trip to the Beacon the children had the opportunity to listen to a talk about Viking weapons, clothes, burials, beliefs and they even had the chance to look at real life artefacts and collected information about them. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed this trip, to find out exactly what they got up to just click on the photograph below.
At St Mary’s we enjoy Prayer and Liturgy as it is a time for quiet, peace and reflecting this prayer and liturgy had a refugee theme and involved: interactive activities, role playing scenarios and reflecting on those who need help and those who help us. This session helped us to develop a deeper understanding of our topic ‘Inspirational people’.
