SEND Register
What is a SEND register?
A SEND register is a list of all the children in a setting who have been identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEN) and /or a disability. It helps the SENCO and staff monitor the children who need extra support. The child is placed on the register after discussions between the parents and school.
What does this mean for my child?
A child who is on the register will receive extra support. This may be individual or group support. The school will work with other professionals using their advice and support to ensure the child makes progress.
Will my child always stay on the SEND register?
This will vary. Some children may make progress that means they no longer need support and they will be removed from the register in discussion with parents/carers. Some children who have significant needs may stay on the register as they will always need help to achieve their full potential.
