Theatre Trip

Year 3 and 4 were lucky enough to visit The King’s Theatre in Glasgow to see ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. The children read the Ronald Dahl book in year 3 as part of their guided reading so we took the opportunity to enrich their learning by watching the theatre show. It was AMAZING and the children represented our school brilliantly.
One pupil said, “That was the best thing I’ve ever seen!”

Wheelchair Basketball

Wheelchair Basketball

Year 3 had the opportunity to have a go at Wheelchair Basketball with support from Nat, who shared his story to the children. We had lots of fun!

Stone Age Cave

Stone Age Cave

To consolidate our learning about our History topic ‘Changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age’, we turned our classroom into a Stone Age cave! Thinking about how pre-historic people lived, we created cave paintings in relation to our learning using only natural colours. We also ‘gathered’ berries to eat whilst we done this, just like Stone Age people may have done! After our cave was completed, we completed a class poster to show everything that we know about our topic and have the chance to talk about our fantastic knowledge!

Advent

Advent

We have been learning about Advent and the important preparations leading to the birth of Jesus. Within our learning, we thought about what our Advent promises would be, as well as the significance of the Advent wreath. With this, we made our very own Advent wreath.

Let’s Dance!

Let’s Dance!

8 children from Years 3 and 4 took part in the Let’s Dance competition at St. Benedict’s School. We were so proud of the children for working so hard on choreography for solo, duet and group dances. They represented our school perfectly and the hard work payed off as we won the whole competition! Well done Year 3 and 4!

The Iron Man

We visited our newly opened library to finish reading our Autumn guided reading book, ‘The Iron Man’. We have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and spending time in our new reading space!
