World Book Day

World Book Day

Children across school celebrated World Book Day. The children in Year 1 and 2 worked on a carousel of activities based on the books 'Matilda' by Roald Dahl and 'The Ladybird' that Heard by Julia Donaldson.

They started the day by focusing on the chapter where Bruce Bogtrotter eats the Trunchbull's chocolate cake. Children then made chocolate cakes. The children used the junk modelling technique to make make the Trunchbull. She looked very scary!

The children listened to the story The Ladybird that Heard and made animal masks and used the beebots to find the fine prize cow.

In the afternoon, the children listened to the story 'The Smeds and the Smoos' and enjoyed a hot chocolate just like Matilda does in the story.

To end the day, we had a whole school assembly where the children enjoyed the story 'The Great Dog Bottom Swap' The children thought the story was hilarious.
